Everything I need to know about missions I learned coaching 4th grade basketball B team.

This comes from my small group (Sunday School) class this morning, guest taught by Lon Vining. I found this interesting enough I wanted to share it with everyone. Two things he did with this team: First, he let every child have a chance to play no matter how bad they were. Second, they won their division championship.

1. Take a job you're passionnate about.
2. Cast the vision and do not waver from it.
3. Set high expectations.
4. Know the opposition
5. Stick to the fundamentals.
6. Develop the team, NOT just the stars.
7. Learn from other coaches.
8. Do whatever it takes to obtain your goal.
9. Stick with it to the end.

Happy March, peeps!

After much going back and forth, I have now done what is necessary to get a course substitution, as it is called, and hopefully graduate with an Associate of Science degree in May.

My dad had a very mild heart attack last week. My mom is struggling with an allergic rash.

Lots of small stresses. Add those to normal school homework, not working enough, being emotionally confused about one person, and struggling to understand another...not much fun.

It's not all bad, though. My guitar class is going well. My cat is as rotten as ever, but highly entertaining. Be warned: He bites and scratches, but he's never left a mark. I think he just sees everyone and everything as a toy or a playmate. Suggestions? Taxes are filed. My communications class is teaching me a little bit of social skills.

I'm sure you all are well aware of my horrible social skills. I'm trying to improve, but I've found that finding normalcy is difficult, and learning to interact properly is quite a challenge. I've thoroughly frustrated my dear mentor, who cannot fathom why I have no desire to marry, and why publicly affectionnate couples make me uncomfortable. I'm not sure what to do.
